The artwork is similarly bright and cartoon-ish, and the complexity level is lightweight but has good range: it'd be easy enough for a child of 7 or 8, yet it can flex to accommodate adults who like think-y puzzles. We love Barenpark and play it regularly. It is a gentle but fun and interesting game with charming design/illustrations. The production quality is excellent and while it takes a long time to set up and put away, we find it is really a nice way to spend half an hour or so, with enough variation and strategy for it to be new each time.

Unlike a lot of tile laying games (or gateway games in general), all of the information in Barenpark is open. There is no randomness, no luck. All of the tiles are on the board, their values clearly displayed as you progress through the stacks.
When I first heard about the board game Barenpark, by Lookout Games, I knew I had to give it a try. It took me a while to do so because for a while it was hard to get a copy. But I finally got to play Barenpark at Salt Con 2019. And as I'd anticipated, I enjoyed it enough to get a copy of the game for our family. A tile-laying game with bears!
